Old Fashioned is In Fashion

Vintage is the new pop culture, even in the advertising world. That’s right, retro design is no longer old fashioned, rather in fashion. Even the most modern products, such as Facebook, Skype, and Guitar Hero, are following this new, old style of advertising.

Designers are using effects that mimic worn paper and muted colors, along with using mid century images to transport customers back to the 1950s. Pairing today’s hottest products with an iconic vintage feel is such a juxtaposition, people’s eyes are naturally drawn in.

You may be asking, “doesn’t this style of advertising make a brand look outdated, and behind the times?” No, not at all! In fact, the nostalgic feeling of these ads evoke a sense of trust in the product. No matter the product or brand, just by using design elements common in decades past, viewers connect to the product on a personal level.

Since the retro style ads seem to be such a big hit now-a-days, we thought we would give it a try, here at AdEase.
