Campaign: Learn More. Earn More
Civilian works with SDICCCA to change the perception that community colleges are just a steppingstone to a four-year degree. Learn More. Earn More is an integrated campaign (research, strategy and creative development, public and community relations, traditional, digital and out of home advertising and social media campaigns) focused on raising awareness of the range and quality of the 2-year, “middle-skills” education programs offered by the 10 community colleges. Using student success stories, op-ed placement, creative ad campaigns and social media targeting and outreach, Civilian and SDICCCA are increasing enrollment, helping employers fill previously empty positions and driving an increase in overall quality of life and economic development in the region.

Campaign: Don’t Delay
The average person waits six to eight years to get help for their mental illness, but many don’t know that the sooner you get help the better your chances of recovery. Civilian developed the Don’t Delay PSA broadcast campaign — part of the recognized San Diego It’s Up to Us Campaign — to bring light to the everyday moments that may not seem significant but are miraculous moments for people who sought help and the people that love them. The campaign series included three PSAs “Chess”, “Grandpa” and “Piano”.

Client: San Jose International Airport
Campaign: Go Somewhere
Many regular travelers hate or merely tolerate airports and SJC knows that. Working with Civilian, they created an irreverent approach to becoming the “The Least Airporty Airport.” The advertising creative used fun stick figures and focused on the end goal – going somewhere. The ads fit well with Silicon Valley meme culture and showcased how SJC gets you there with fewer fog delays and an easier path from point A to B.
