Kristina Shigaeva is a bright and talented account person who came to us from Boston where she began her career. The fact that she left Boston and headed to San Diego means she’s got a pretty good head on her shoulders, too. And, she pronounces her Rs properly!
When you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A social cause you care deeply about and why?
The environment and specifically protecting the world’s oceans through reduced plastic use. Did you know that each year over 1M seabirds and 100K mammals die due to plastic pollution in the ocean? I think especially after moving to San Diego and living just a few blocks away from the ocean, this is a cause that I have becomes increasingly more passionate about. I try my best to participate in beach cleanups and try to reduce my use of plastic wherever possible. Nobody is perfect, but even if everyone made some small changes in their lives, it would have a huge impact overall. We can all make some simple swaps to support our planet.
If you could earn a living doing anything else, what would it be?
Being a travel writer
You can invite 3 people from either present day or history to break bread with, who would it be and why?
Tom Petty because he’s one of my favorite musicians of all time and I still get sad every time I think about the fact that he’s gone. I saw him perform just a few weeks before his death and it was one of the most amazing concerts I’ve ever been to.
Robin Williams because nothing makes me laugh as hard as his stand up does.
And my grandmother on my mom’s side because I never got to meet her. She died when my mom was 9 years old around the age that I am now.
In 5 words, describe yourself? (must use all 5….no more…no less)
