Media Supervisor (Hybrid)

Job Overview

The Media Supervisor oversees day-to-day media strategy, planning, and buying to support multiple clients and integrated campaigns. Serves as a senior member of the Media Services team and provides oversight, coaching, and performance management of the Media Strategist. Must be able to utilize data, consumer behavior research, and media consumption habits to inform media strategy and conceptualize innovative traditional and digital media solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee development of integrated media strategies that meet campaign objectives, reach desired target audiences, and are supported with strong rationale
  • Establish and build strong professional relationships internally (cross department) and externally (media vendors)
  • Proactively lead and identify ways to innovate and advance media capabilities (e.g., POVs, recommendations, process improvements)
  • Review and approve vendor proposals and ensure RFPs effectively communicate campaign strategy and needs that will best achieve each client’s unique media objectives
  • Ensure strong client rapport and a high level of confidence; accountable for stewardship of media plans, including flowchart changes, budgets, execution, reporting, optimization, and invoice reconciliation
  • Develop buying guidelines, supervise buying process, and ensure timely completion of day-to-day tasks
  • Review and analyze campaign performance and ongoing optimizations to ensure results meet or exceed benchmarks with strong analytical skills to evaluate key metrics, develop insights, present campaign reporting, and relate results to client objectives
  • Oversee professional development of team members and evaluate performance on an as needed basis and help prioritize daily workflow for team members

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • 6+ years of experience in media planning, buying, and research with proven ability to develop and implement media plans that achieve specific, measurable results
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with ability to develop and tailor communications to effectively connect with diverse audiences; capable of adapting strategies and tactics to respond to client or audience feedback
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience with strong ability to manage people and multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Fluent in Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), GFK MRI/Simmons, Kantar, DCM, Google Analytics, Nielsen, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of technology, digital and social media imperative
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills

Location

This position is a hybrid role based in San Diego, California. Remote working options with in-office Wednesdays and biweekly half-day Fridays for collaboration and team building.

 

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000, depending on experience.
